facts_:

1. strawberries are a member of the Rose family.

2. April Fool's Day: In France, a person who is fooled on this day is called poisson d'Avril, an “April fish.” Chocolate fish are the treats for the day. In the U.S. at one time, people poured chocolate over pieces of cotton on April 1, to fool others with “cotton candy.”

3. Fat Tuesday: The day before Lent is called Fat Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday, or Mardi Gras. Traditionally, people made pancakes to use up their butter and eggs, which were not allowed during Lent.

4. The new freezer is officially the ice cream freezer. replenished with only haagen dazs ice cream only. leaving space in the fridge for juices.

5. my pint of haagen dazs ice cream melted while typing this.

6. Now for some facts on my favourite deserts.

Ice Cream consists of a mixture of dairy ingredients such as milk and nonfat milk, and ingredients for sweetening and flavoring, such as fruits, nuts and chocolate chips. Functional ingredients, such as stabilizers and emulsifiers, are often included in the product to promote proper texture and enhance the eating experience. By federal law, ice cream must contain at least 10% milkfat, before the addition of bulky ingredients, and must weigh a minimum of 4.5 pounds to the gallon.
Frozen Custard or French Ice Cream must also contain a minimum of 10% milkfat, as well as at least 1.4 % egg yolk solids.
Sherbets have a milkfat content of between 1% and 2%, and a slightly higher sweetener content than ice cream. Sherbet weighs a minimum of 6 pounds to the gallon and is flavored either with fruit or other characterizing ingredients.
Gelato is characterized by an intense flavor and is served in a semi-frozen state. Gelato contains sweeteners, milk, cream, egg yolks and flavoring.
Sorbet and Water Ices are similar to sherbets, but contain no dairy ingredients.
A Quiescently Frozen Confection is a frozen novelty such as a water ice novelty on a stick.
Frozen Yogurt consists of a mixture of dairy ingredients such as milk and nonfat milk which have been cultured, as well as ingredients for sweetening and flavoring.
Novelties are separately packaged single servings of a frozen dessert -- such as ice cream sandwiches, fudge sticks and juice bars -- that may or may not contain dairy ingredients.

7. An ice cream song!

ICE CREAM by Johnson, Moll, & King
In the land of ice and snow

Up among the Eskimo
There's a college known as Oogie-wawa.
You should hear those college boys
Gee, they make an awful noise
When they sing their Eskimo tra la la.
They've got a leader, big cheer leader, oh what a guy!
He's got a frozen face just like an Eskimo Pie.
When he says, "Come on, let's go!
"Though it's forty-five below
Listen what those Eskimo all holler:
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
Rah, rah...Oogie de wawa rah rah rah!
Tuesday, Monday, we all scream for Sundae!
Sis, boom, Aurora borealea, bah!
Boola boola
Sasparoola
We've got the chocolate
I'll take vanoola
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
Rah, rah, ice cream soda or gingerale pop!
Father mother
Sister brother
When they've had one at lion
They want another
Colleges may come and go
But the world will never know
Any other place like Oogie-wawa
Oxford, Cambridge, Eaton too
Football teams would all turn blue
When they played a game with Oogie-wawa
Those Esquimos looked mighty tough when they took the field
And people said, Ah, they're the team that never will yield
Then with gore and flying fur
Just to show how tough they were
All those Esquimos began to holler
Iceberg, Lindberg, Sol Berg and Ginzberg,
Ice cream Cohen.
I scream, you scream, everybody wants ice cream.
Rah, rah, raaazberry!

the city's skyline, seen from a hyun dai matrix on the ecp highway. brightly lit by the lamps that line the streets at the foot of the skyscrapers. what could compare to this wonderful sight. singapore's achievement in creating this fantastic skyline from scratch. wish i could lie on a red mini cooper and arm myself with a slr camera to capture it. what a great way to relax and digest from a sumptuous seafood extravaganza at Jumbo. argh talking abt camera and food, my cam's cf card is officially screwed and saw this really wonderful (and expensive) brunch buffet at hotel intercontinental. comes with wonderful champagne and live jazz. what a great way to spent the sunday afternoon. unfortunately, at $88, the price was wayy too steep for any poly student. the spread was pretty normal n i can't comment on the taste till i try it for myself, which i probably won't unless i strike lottery, which probably will also not happen cos i don't buy lottery. ok, fine, never. ill just leave the thought of the buffet spread in my head while i turn in.

thxs peeps for the present.
