The world's most beloved musical celebrates its 45th anniversary when this Broadway's classic musical comes to Singapore, direct from New York!

Set in pre-World War II Austria, The Sound of Music tells the enchanting story of young, spirited novice Maria Reiner. Unsure of a monastic life, Maria leaves the abbey to serve as governess to the seven children of stern, widower Captain Von Trapp. Lovely Maria endears herself to the children and eventually captures the heart of their father. Based on a true story, The Sound of Music is an uplifting tale of love and the family's daring flight from Nazi occupation.

Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, The Sound of Music is guaranteed to captivate Singapore with classic Rodgers and Hammerstein songs, like My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Climb Ev'ry Mountain, Edelweiss, Something Good, Maria and more! sometimes i just feel very blessed. count your blessings man! hmm.. lets see where do we start.
first off, when i got the fyp project, i thought "o man wth is this project gotta do with my course!". i just thought our project suxs. well i thought wrong. it was an industrial project with dso (f.y.i. its defense science organisation, the very people who developed the SAR21 and other army stuff). so ok, cool, not many groups had industrial projects. ok fine maybe only 2-3. when we heard the name dso, we were like whoa, sounds big. we mostly slack through the project, only when it was like a few months left did we buck up to complete it. we had a few extra publicity stints too. like the exhibition at dso and the video shoot for the eps show. then it was eps. basically any one who went to the show had to visit our booth. they would go like "whoa, woo, wee" and wat have u. ok, so i thought that was the end but Noooo. slacking around at home could also land me a job! dso offered us temp jobs. flexible working hours and great pay ( i shan't elaborate much but i'll tell ya good). i thought it was rather funny that my friends been looking for jobs and stuff and i just sit at home and the job comes find me. ok enuff said or you will start wacking me.

movie-thon day 2: watched spanglish and swing girls todae. i totally recommend spanglish, it totally roxs! just luv the way they tell the story and ben stiller's char. the mexican's gorgeous too! swing girls was pretty ok but i thought the story was alittle lame. comical in a kiddish way.
anyway go watch spanglish. gonna watch the wedding date and howls moving castle when i have the time or cash again. nobody could be as sick as me to watch so many shows n watching alone.

p.s. oc2's on now! mischa barton gogogo!

'individualistic'

had a mini movie-thon today. watched hitch and be cool. heh, wanted to watch swing girls after that but i spent all my money on pops and drinks. anyway hitch was great and if you wanna be cool, don't watch be cool. atrocious, substandard show. it's mostly about this guy lying to everybody to get what he wants. the jokes were colder then my haagen daaz chocolate ice cream. aimless. i don't know what to do. poly life's over. national service? then wat ? now wat? games boring. going out with friends? doing the same thing all over again. work? for money and wat do you do with the money? buy this and that that you probably don't need. then wat? sigh.

anyway, i caught hamlet on central. it was pretty interesting to watch a contemporary william shakespear play. their archiac english conversation was kinda funny at first. i had a hard time catching wad they were talking abt but i got used to the style mid way through the show. aye it still can't beat the contemporary version of romeo and juliet by leonardo decaprio. hope the merchant of venice open in cinema real quick. i can't wait.

it seems im having those lousy irritating coughs. once it starts, it can't stop. can't even sleep properly. sigh, made a mess of the place. drinking me juice and i started to cough. just wad i needed. bleh.

i was hoping for some fresh air when i opened the balcony doors, but noooo.. the smell of cow dug slipped through the door and overwhelmed me. nearly died of the stench. the construction workers had layed the field infront of my flat with cow dug. the vast black sea of shit smelly manure was there, covering the once green 'pastures'. how uplifting to see this in the morning.

church was deck with wonderful decors, gold white ribbons. doves hanging intertwine with pink cloths. i was awe struck when i heard the choir sing. quazillion times better then the usual 10.30 choir. then i heard the voice of an angel. an angelic voice to be precise. she sang the most beautiful psalm verse i ever ever heard. she sounded like Charlotte Church. then there was another Charlotte Church sound-alike that sung a duet with her. Then there was a josh groban singing a duet with charlotte church. woot, if only every sunday choir was like this. really pleasing to the ears. aye wish i could hear her sing again. haha, maybe ill wed with a charlotte church sound-alike and ask her to sing for me everyday. =)
